About Page

The EMCTLA was formed in 1992 as an association of EMC test labs, working to ensure a commonality of understanding and approach to EMC testing. It has grown to cover most aspects of regulatory compliance for electrical and electronic products, including EMC, radio, rf exposure, reduction of hazardous substances, accreditation and certifications. The association boasts a wide ranging membership from the test equipment industry, calibration industry, test laboratory industry, electrical & electronic product manufacturers, compliance consultancies, conformity assessment bodies, etc. It is based in the UK, but with active members from around the globe. Many of our members are active participants in standards development for IEC, CISPR and ETSI. The EMCTLA have representation at British Standards committees, GEL/210 EMC Policy and Standards and TCT/301 Telecommunications. We are the industry liaison with the MoD for DEF STAN 59-411. We have regular meetings covering all aspects of product compliance and operate an e-mail reflector where members can both pose and obtain answers to their questions.
